Journalism Club

The Journalism Club provides an opportunity for students to collaborate with their peers and work on projects that include social events, attending conferences, communicating with faculty and staff, and are the primary people responsible for planning the annual Journalism and Mass Communication Spring Banquet, where the department awards scholarships to outstanding students.

Members of the Journalism Club plan activities and events such as a photojournalism contest and the fall JMC Bakedown. Students in the club also assist with department recruitment at the Northern California Association of Junior Colleges and Community Colleges.

Participation in the Journalism Club is voluntary, and it gives students who want to be club officers an additional opportunity to get experience as leaders that they can add that to their resume.

To join the Journalism Club, contact club faculty adviser Prof. Vicky Sama at ves9@humboldt.edu.
